Automation Solutions LLC is looking for a Master Electrician that will continually build, develop and grow subcontractor and field personnel relationships to ensure success of each project.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the electrical installation field component and ensure that all projects are in compliance with national, state and local codes
  • Successfully plan, permit, schedule and execute the installation of the projects and maintain the proper company documents for each project
  • Interpret line drawings and product literature
  • Interacts with the customer with a professional demeanor
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Provides leadership and support to the project staff and ensure quality and timely completion of projects
  • Relay to manager or appropriate sales personnel field intelligence and needs to the customer
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
  • Keep current with latest applicable technology and techniques
  • Drive and work from service van

Requirements

  • Master Electrician License with a minimum of 5 years electrical experience
  • Strong math and trigonometry skills

  • Supervises electricians and apprentices in installing electrical fixtures
  • Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits
  • Leads, guides and or trains others in applicable procedures and techniques
  • Ensures the proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
  • Provides leadership and support to the project staff and ensure quality and timely completion of projects
  • Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment
  • Monitor and document job site safety and accident prevention
  • Keep current with latest applicable technology and techniques

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or GED) or Trade School diploma
  • Journeyman Electrician License

Job Description

Automation Solutions LLC is a small but rapidly growing company in Germantown. With this growth, we are looking to hire an Electrical Engineer with experience in designing control panels for large industrial environments. This position will be responsible for PLC Programming, program integration, panel design and instrument selection. In addition, it will involve development of engineering standards, project management, in shop and on-site construction oversight. Strong PLC programming skills including PID Development, troubleshooting in both Allen-Bradley and Beckhoff.

Responsibilities

  • Produce electrical schematic drawings of Control Panel Layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Design and interpret PLC code
  • Develop and maintain a progress schedule for each project
  • Create and maintain and Engineering file for each project
  • Ensure design changes are documented and communicated through the documentation revision processes
  • Create technical specifications and technical design documents for equipment
  • Inspect all panels for correct wiring and set-up and perform in-house testing of engineered PLC code
  • Travel to customers facilities for assessment & engineering specifications, installation and start-up of panels and follow up to ensure proper function and customer satisfaction
  • Act as technical resource to customers to address and resolve inquires and problems and ensure the successful completion of projects
  • Assist office personnel in creating BOM for customers, completion of field service reports, job costing time cards, payables and invoices to the customer
  • Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in the industry
  • Always work and comply with all state and federal safety codes

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or 10 years of experience
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 9-10 years of experience in control systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical skills

Our Control Panel Builders have the opportunity to work on a variety of unique, customized projects while further developing their panel building skillset at the same time. Examples of responsibilities include…

  • Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, point to point wiring schedules, and schematics.
  • Organizing and meeting scheduling for assemblies, pursuant to company standards.
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies in drawings and discrepancies in paperwork to ask or answer questions during assembly process.
  • Performing routine tasks in preparation for assembly, such as cutting wire to specified size, stripping, and fastening terminal connections.
  • Layout, drill, punch, tap, and mounting of components in sheet metal enclosures.
  • Safe use of common hand tools and power tools including wire cutters, crimpers, drills, taps, knockouts, jig saws, band saws to prepare and assemble components.
  • Din rail and wire duct to complete electrical panels to print.
  • Neatly routing and bundling wires and cables according to established electrical standards, wiring and labeling as appropriate, for example: choosing appropriate wire colors and gauges to complete wiring to all applicable codes, specifications and regulations.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of applicable electrical standards such as NEC, UL, and NFPA.
  • Field wiring of control cabinets into machinery if needed.
  • Assist Engineers and Electrical Control Technicians with machine startup and debug.
  • Ensuring work meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Completing projects within allocated project hours and by due date.
  • Working closely with electrical engineering team to resolve any issues.
  • Exercising safe work habits and maintaining a clean and safe working area.

Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma required. While no further degree is required, it is deemed desirable to have some formal technical or trade training to acquire the skills listed below.
  • 1-2 years of experience in panel/machine wiring desired.
  • Ability to read electrical prints/schematics.
  • Familiarity with PLC, power supply and VFD wiring techniques.
  • Electrical wiring and component connection in accordance with UL and CSA standards.
  • Usage of a multi-meter to read voltage, current and resistance required.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability and willingness to commute to our office or specified job sites on a daily basis, regardless of residence location.

Responsibilities

This position features the opportunity to work on a variety of unique, customized projects. Examples of responsibilities include (not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary):

  • Develop the structural design of products using drafting tools or computer-assisted design (CAD) or drafting equipment and software.
  • Assist in research, design, evaluation, installation, operation, and maintain mechanical projects, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Ability to work with customers to define project definition and scope, determine resource needs, concept designs, determine loads and calculations and be able to specify required hydraulic / pneumatic components, etc.
  • Work with customers from concept to installation and be part of the total project, including frequent interaction with automation engineers and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with project team and management to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications, and necessity of modification.
  • Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of project cycle, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of component parts to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Provide timely status reports of assignments.
  • Complete all necessary project development paperwork and produce meaningful project control documentation.
  • Maintain a strong company presence and positive working relationship with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and co-workers to accomplish smooth system start-ups.
  • Stay current in new developments in the industry.
  • Comply with all quality and safety regulations.
  • Other tasks and assignments as requested.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3D design using AutoDesk Inventor (preferred).
  • Familiar with industrial automation and system integration.
  • Possess a solid work history and references.
  • Ability and willingness to commute to our office or specified job sites daily, regardless of residence location.
